Casting Instructions
Initial casting is done through the submission of a self-tape audition. A successful self-tape for 5things Studios has the following elements:
Good lighting – a light ring, light box, or natural light is fine, we just want to be able to see your face clearly.
Clear sound – most phones have a built-in camera that works fine. Try to record in an area without a lot of background noise.
Personality – having a good reading partner can really help, but our goal is to see the personality of the character.
We don’t care if you record on your cell phone or on a zoom call. You don’t need to buy expensive equipment or pay for a studio production. We simply want to see your face, hear your voice, and feel your personality.
Once you have created a self-tape, submit it through the form under the project for which you are interested in auditioning.
Call backs will get an in-person audition.
How to Share Your Self-Tape
We accept self-tapes via link to either DropBox or Google Drive.
DropBox Instructions -
If you don’t already have DropBox, down load the DropBox app and install it on your desktop, tablet, or smartphone.
Create a “shared file” for your submission video.
Drag your video to the shared file.
Select to copy a shared link.
Paste that link into the submission form under the appropriate casting notice
Google Drive Instructions -
Select the video you want to share.
Click Share
Under “General access” click the Down arrow
Select “Anyone with the Link”
Select Viewer
Click Copy link
Click Done
