CASTING NOTICES
ABOUT THE DOCUMENTARY
Red Book Blue Book is a feature length documentary about the language of American politics and how political identity shapes understanding. The film examines how people routinely agree with ideas, arguments, and values when they believe those ideas come from their own political side, and reject the same language when it is presented as coming from the opposition.
Revisiting a past social experiment, the documentary reveals how framing and labels often matter more than substance, and how tribal affiliation can override comprehension, curiosity, and critical thinking. Guided by two hosts approaching the material from complementary perspectives, the film combines structured dialogue with on the ground interviews to observe how political meaning is formed, filtered, and dismissed. The project is intentionally nonpartisan and focused on exposing patterns of thought rather than promoting conclusions, inviting audiences to recognize how language influences belief before ideology even enters the room.
THE ROLE
We are casting a male co host to partner with the original creator and host of Red Book Blue Book. Together, the hosts will guide the documentary’s exploration of political language, framing, and perception through structured conversation and public facing interviews.
The co host will participate in on camera dialogue, introduce themes, engage with members of the public at events and in everyday settings, and help surface patterns in how people respond to identical ideas presented under different political labels. The role requires curiosity, restraint, and the ability to think clearly in real time without steering or editorializing.
This is not a debate role. The co host is a collaborator in inquiry, not a counterpoint or ideological foil.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate is intellectually grounded, emotionally steady, and comfortable operating in politically adjacent spaces without advocacy.
Strong candidates may come from backgrounds such as journalism, academia, law, public policy, ethics, psychology, or research, but must demonstrate an ability to remain neutral and disciplined in tone.
The candidate should bring:
Clear, confident on camera communication
Comfort engaging unscripted conversations with the public
The ability to ask precise, non leading questions
Respect for differing viewpoints without endorsing them
A calm presence that encourages openness rather than defensiveness
Prior hosting, documentary, or public speaking experience is strongly preferred.
NOT A FIT IF YOU
This role is not appropriate for individuals seeking visibility for a political position, personal brand, or ideological cause.
We are not casting:
Political commentators, pundits, or campaign voices
Activists or advocates seeking to advance an agenda
Influencers or personality driven hosts
Candidates who rely on debate, provocation, or rhetorical dominance
Red Book Blue Book requires intellectual humility, curiosity, and a genuine interest in how people think, not in persuading them what to think
